I spent twenty years teaching science. Every day meant showing up with patience, energy, and attention for a room full of students who each needed something a little different — and I gave it, the way teachers and caregivers do.
What I didn't do was leave anything for myself. I came home depleted and called it dedication, until burnout made that impossible to keep doing.
Spiritual Affinity started as natural skincare — small batches, simple ingredients, made by hand. But the more I used what I was making, the more the shower itself became the point.
A Few Minutes That Belonged to Me
I started protecting a few minutes a day. That was the whole thing.
Not a new routine, not a system — just the shower, and the decision to actually be in it. I breathed on purpose. I paid attention to what I was smelling and feeling instead of running the next hour in my head. Some days that was three minutes. It was still three minutes that belonged to me.
People started asking. Colleagues, friends, women running on the same empty I had been. They wanted to know what I was making and how I was using it. So I started sharing — the blends, the breathwork, the few quiet minutes.
That sharing is what turned a batch of soap into Spiritual Affinity, and that practice is where the Flows came from. They aren't a routine I designed and handed over; they're what I was already doing, written down so it's easier for you to find your own version.
My science background is also why you'll find clear ingredient information on every product page and nothing claimed that can't be backed up.
Handmade With Intention
Spiritual Affinity products are handmade in small batches with natural ingredients. Our collection includes artisan bar soaps, emulsified body scrubs, body oils, whipped body butters, beard oils, and shower steamers.
Our scented products are handcrafted with essential oils selected for their distinct, naturally derived aromas. Our fragrance-free formulas are made without added fragrance or essential oils, allowing the natural character of their ingredients to remain.
Each formula brings together cleansing, exfoliation, moisture, texture, and aroma according to the purpose of the product.
